There’s no other city that can beat Kolkata when it comes to Pujo celebrations. From traditional to contemporary to theme – based pandals, one is spoilt for choices. Keeping up with the festive mood, Kolkata’s Fatty Bao is all set for a Chinese twist. If you are in Kolkata for Durga Puja, do not miss the ‘Pandals of Chinatown’ menu at Fatty Bao, on offer between September 28 and October 13, 2019

Fatty Bao, a popular gastropub in Kolkata, has decided to offer its guests a chance to taste signature dishes from Chinatowns around the world. According to senior Sous chef, Sumit “Since Chinese cuisine is a favourite here, we’ve decided to give our patrons a taste of their favourite cuisine but with a difference.”

The menu gives a tour of Chinatowns around the world from Kolkata to New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong, London, Victoria and even Lima. In addition to this, it also offers an insight into the history and evolution of Chinese community. It consists of signature dishes from landmark Chinese restaurants including the likes of Moo Shu Chicken from New York City, fish puff from London’s Kowloon, Har Pang Pork from Kolkata’s Tangra and roasted half duck from San Francisco.

The menu also introduces guests to the concept Peruvian Chinese cuisine. Most of the Chinese restaurants in Peru go by the name of ‘Chifa’ which literally means ‘to cook rice’.  The Peruvian Chinese menu at Fatty Bao includes Chinese sausage and bacon fried rice with fried eggs and scallion. Catering to the vegetarian audience, the restaurant offers an Indo – Chinese fusion of fried noodles and Cantonese style braised cottage cheese.
