Dubai has always been a crowd favourite when it comes to world’s most popular tourist destinations. This city of Sheikhs is not only home to the Burj Khalifa but also boasts of some of the most luxurious hotel experiences. But is a trip to Dubai possible without burning a hole in your pocket? Well, now it is.
The UAE government has exempted tourists aged 18 and under from paying visa fee. Between July 15 and September 15, 2019, children accompanied by their parent(s) will qualify for an exemption from visa fees. However, this is beneficial only if the accompanying parent holds a tourist visa--be it short or long term visa. Tourists of all nationalities can avail the benefits of this initiative but visa exemption must be applied for in advance via UAE National Carriers or licensed travel agencies.
The visa cost and travel cost are key determinants of any family vacation and this step taken by the UAE government encourages people to choose UAE as a tourist destination. This initiative not only offers great savings but also provides an opportunity to enjoy Dubai’s host of theme parks, water parks and other world class experiences.
Major General Saeed Al Rashidi, Acting Director General for Foreigner’s Affairs and Ports at ICA welcomed the move as these facilities support UAE’s competitiveness as a leading destination in family tourism and attract visitors from all over the world to enjoy the heritage, culture, fascinating beaches, world class hotel services and sporting and artistic events throughout the year. Dubai is the perfect destination for a family getaway and now families can enjoy the plethora of experiences that Dubai has to offer at a much lower cost with this visa fee exemption.
