UNESCO Adds 29 New Sites To Its World Heritage List

This year's new list comprises of sites long forgotten and unusual

The 43rd meet of Unesco's World Heritage Committee in Baku, Azerbaijan concluded with 29 new sites added to the World Heritage List. A total of 1121 properties all over the world, these sites are of "outstanding universal value" and have stood out because of their cultural and natural excellence. This year's new sites are:

Budj Bim Cultural Landscape in Australia
Historic Centre of Sheki with the Khan's Palace in Azerbaijan
Dilmun Burial Mounds in Bahrain
Paraty and Ilha Grande (Culture and Biodiversity) in Brazil
Ancient ferrous metallurgy sites in Burkina Faso
Writing-on-Stone/Áísínai'pi in Canada
Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City in China
Migratory Bird Sanctuaries along the Coast of Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf of China, Phase I in China
Landscape for Breeding and Training of Ceremonial Carriage Horses at Kladruby nad Labem in Czech Republic 
Erzgebirge Mining Region shared by both Czech Republic and Germany
French Austral Lands and Seas in France
Water Management System of Augsburg in Germany
Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland
Jaipur City, Rajasthan in India
Ombilin Coal Mining Heritage of Sawahlunto in Indonesia
