The heavenly Kashmir Valley is all set to wow you once more with its pristine natural beauty. The gorgeous region, surrounded by the daunting Himalayan mountain ranges, offers a visual treat for the eyes. The annual event takes place at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range in Srinagar at the India Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden. Set against the backdrop of the mystifying Dal Lake, the idea is to put forth the flora of the Kashmir Valley. Though previously hyacinths and daffodils were a part of the Model Floriculture Center, the festival which precedes the Tulip Festival, the focus of the event has shifted to tulips which have begun to garner major eyeballs.
The festival which began on April 1 will continue till May 5 with the garden open every day of the week between 7am and 7.30pm. If you happen to be a flower enthusiast or a nature lover, you simply can't miss out. Numerous varieties of tulips like the standard tulip, double bloom tulip, parrot tulip, fringed tulip, among others enamour the garden. How many can you spot?
