Planning to start your year with a blast? Here’s a good option for you. Jaipur’s Diggi Palace hotel is all set for the 12th edition of the Zee Jaipur Literature Festival from the 24th of January lasting 5 days till the 28th. The festival’s Delhi preview announced the names of over 350 prominent speakers around the globe and across India who would be attending the festival in Jaipur next month. Akhil Katyal, Ben Okri, Benyamin, Bettany Hughes, Navtej Sarna are some of the names you would find there. In partnership with Hotstar the festival will be airing 75 episodes from the 2018 edition of the festival which will be on its free to access platform.

The Delhi preview featured a panel discussion on The first draft of History: The Perils of Journaliism with some of the panellists being Saba Naqvi, Suhasini Haider and Nikhil Kumar. Later the Taj Mahal Hotel was deep in symphony with the performance of Qutbi brothers Qawwals. The festival has also planned another preview in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Don’t look at the festival to be a typical talk show where one can easily doze off. There’s not just oration. The place will be elated with music with some of the headliners of the festival being Australian musician DubFX, Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi, Rajasthani folk musician Kutle Khan and Nooran sisters, the Sufi singing duo.

Every year the festival boasts about its huge variety in books, themes, subjects and its dense ideas representing literature. The festival promises to give you a deep idea about literature both in India and the world.
