Guwahati just became the sweet 16th city link between India and Singapore with the recent launch of Drukair Royal Bhutan Airlines' first direct flight from Guwahati in Assam to Singapore. This route indeed is a start of bigger and better things in terms of connectivity, travel and trade. Singapore Changi Airport's latest direct connectivity with the northeast India has come as a very good news to all those who, in the past, had to deal with more than 10 hours of travel time. With this, now the travel time has been reduced to 4 hours 30 minutes. With 16 city links, Changi Airport is now connected to India by 280 weekly one-way services.

Very recently IndiGo Airlines launched its daily sevices from Kolkata and Tiruchirapalli to Singapore and from October 29 onwards, there will be additional 4-times weekly flights from Bangalore to Singapore.

For travellers travelling to Guwahati, the northeastern city in Assam is the gateway to all the other breathtaking destinations in the northeastern part of India. Guwahati and neighbouring places are ripe with attractions ranging from culture to nature. Kamakhya Temple, Kaziranga National Park, Manas National Park, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, Majuli river island, are some of the major attractions to visit when in Assam. Apart from culture and nature trips, one can also take a trip down the memory lane in one of the Colonial tea gardens in the state and get to know the globally known Assam tea up close and personal.
