India’s first multidisciplinary arts event, the Serendipity Arts Festival 2018 will ignite Goa from the 15-22 December. Energising Goa while at the same time transforming it into a vibrant cultural space, the festival is committed to engaging the public and increase awareness of how art can impact society.
With over 90 projects highlighting India’s rich traditions of music, dance and theatre, alongside culinary arts, craft, and visual arts exhibitions, the festival will take place across 10 venues. Creating a balance between artistic rigour and accessibility, the projects will showcase art forms from different parts of the country to encourage cross-cultural exchanges. Projects like The Young Subcontinent curated by Riyas Komu, St+art curated by Hanif Qureishi, Out of Turn curated by Asia Art Archive and Meenakshi Thirukode and a Film Programme by Sabeena Gadihoke will also be presented alongside the 90 projects.
While the first two editions transformed redefined perceptions of the arts whilst also energising arts production, awareness and practice across the country. The third edition of this festival focuses on developing cultural connections and supporting emerging artists across South Asia.
Theatre performances designed for children, large-scale public installations in the visual arts and photography, a variety of outdoor and evening music performances, culinary workshops and tastings are also a part of this extravagant showpiece.
