OT: Which is your favourite hotel in the world and why?
Milla Jovovich: It has to be Reethi Rah in the Maldives. In fact, its full name is One&Only Reethi Rah and it absolutely lives up to its name (from $1,550; oneandonlyresorts.com).
OT: Could you elaborate?
Milla Jovovich: It is just stunning! The resort itself is so pretty—like a lotus floating on water! The island is beautiful and offers more privacy than most resorts I have been to. The views are absolutely stunning and you never get used to the turquoise water and the clear blue skies. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. The villa is simply grand and very spacious with a private pool, daybeds and over-water hammocks. There is so much attention to little details—initials embroidered on pillows, and the same done to house kaftans or beach cover-ups, yoga mats, a chess set and sketchbook in the room—all this will make any one feel so wanted and cared for.
OT: What about the service?
Milla Jovovich: Oh! That is also one and only! All the staff make you feel as though you are the most important person for them. Right from the room attendants who offer to unpack for you to the in-house biologists who will take you snorkelling with turtles and photographers who will go out of their way to arrange a tripod so you can photograph the night sky—the folks at Reethi Rah sure know how to show anyone a good time. And they have such lovely beaming faces at all times, you would like to believe there is no such thing as work stress!
OT: And the food?
Milla Jovovich: There are a total of five restaurants here and each one of them offers amazing meals. The chefs will make sure that the food is incredible. My favourite was Tapasake, the Japanese restaurant from where you can see reef sharks at night and the Japanese menu is huge!
