Living in the new millennium but your heart's stuck in the 1970s? Can’t get those disco beats out of your head? You need to make a trip to Amsterdam, if for no other reason than to remind yourself that you’re still stayin’ alive—at a uber-cool, retrohip, industrial-chic hotel. The SIR Adam hotel, spread across eight floors of a 1970s landmark skyscraper, A’DAM Tower, has 108 unique rooms. Which other hotel in the world has a Gibson guitar, Crosley record player and vinyl records as standard features in every room? Mirrors have illuminated lyrics etched on them, and artwork is sourced from local artists. The Hub is the throbbing heart of the hotel, a ‘co-working-space-meets-concept store’, which overlooks The Butcher Social Club, which in turn overlooks the Amsterdam IJ-river. Neighbours in the building include the legendary Gibson guitar maker and music companies MassiveMusic and ID&T. At the very top is Madam, the city’s highest nightclub. Classic rockers, disco bunnies, you’ll get night fever, night fever... Because they know how to do it... From EURO149 doubles; siradamhotel.com
