Unknown and unexplored, lighthouses in India have an aura of mystery around them that is begging to be discovered and explored. With this spirit in mind, the Ministry of Shipping has decided to prettify 194 lighthouses in India, out of which 71 have been approved in the first phase. The rich maritime heritage along with the scenic surroundings is something that has the potential to turn into attractive and rich tourism destinations.
