The US is home to 61 national parks. With a national park in almost every state (including two outside, American Samoa and the US Virgin Islands), it is safe to say the outdoors is a pretty thing in the country. The US has some of the most gorgeous national parks in the world and many of them are unique.

Crater Lake National Park

The Crater Lake National Park was established in 1902 in Oregon. The lake was formed by the now-collapsed volcano Mt Mazama in 5700 BCE. It is fifth-oldest national park in the country and the lake is the deepest at 594m (ninth-deepest in the world).

Grand Canyon National Park

The Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona is one of the most popular in the world. It is unique and picturesque because of geologic colour and erosion forms to create a canyon that is 446km long. The south rim is open all year long to visit and enjoy the scenery. Did you know the park is celebrating its centenary year in 2019?

Grand Teton National Park

The Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming is a park full of imagination. Not literally! There’s extraordinary wildlife, alpine terrain and pristine lakes at this park. One could enjoy miles and miles of hiking trails and also float down Snake river

Glacier National Park

Located in the Glacier National Park in Montana, Lake Sherburne is in the Many Glacier region. The lake is a reservoir and was formed by the Lake Sherburne dam. One can fish along the spectacular lake and make for a great weekend getaway.

Yosemite National Park

Located in the southernmost part of the Yosemite National Park, the Mariposa Grove is home to gigantic sequoias. In fact, two of them are among the world’s 30 largest giant sequoias list. The Giant Grizzly is the oldest tree in the grove and is probably 1900-2400 years old!
