It's a treat for the eyes in the skies

There are some spectacles in the world which can leave you absolutely stunned. Close your eyes and picture the mesmerising Taj Mahal during peak sunset or the Great Barrier Reef (which, by the way, is the largest living thing in the world) in Australia or the transcendent blue waters and spread of limestone islands in Vietnam's irresistible Ha Long Bay. Far away from the concrete jungle and in the arms of nature, you see the unimaginable. To look for the spectacular, we often go into the wilds but what if you don't have to go far? What if you could find it within a city?

Full of life and the hub of all activity, cities are lively, charismatic and ever happening. But, in the crowd of chaos, sometimes one needs to lay back and just relax. Take some time off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life by witnessing some magnificent skylines of cities around you. As the night sky takes over, the skylines glitter and dazzle with fabulous energy. Here are some Asian cities where the lights flood the night sky creating a wave of unyielding charismatic energy.

Hong Kong SAR, China

This Asian city is home to 317 skyscrapers (the most in the world) and its night sky is an incredible sight. Catch the skyline of Hong Kong from the Victoria Peak, the highest hill on the island or attend a 'Symphony of Lights' show, the largest of its kind in the world

Mumbai, India

When discussing skylines it's impossible to ignore the heartbeat of Maharashtra, Mumbai. The frenetic pace of India's financial capital can be frightening for a newcomer but it is during the night when you discover the essence of Mumbai's soul. A drive through the Bandra-Worli Sea Link is the best place to observe Mumbai's majestic skyline from.

Seoul, South Korea

The South Korean capital is quite unique for its skyline is brilliant amalgamation of greenery and skyscrapers. The Lotte World Tower (tallest building in Seoul) along with 65 other buildings makes for an eye-catching observation. Seoul is set an elevation surrounded by a group of mountains adding to its attraction. You can check out this gorgeous skyline from the observation deck at the Namsan Seoul Tower.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Malaysia's Petronas Twin Towers are a thing of wonder. Holding the crown of the world's tallest building once upon a time, the twin buildings make up for an influential part of the Malaysian skyline. Make your way to the glass skybridge connecting the twin towers from where you can gaze at the astonishing night sky.

Dubai, UAE

If I didn't mention Dubai, I wouldn't be doing justice to this list. Growing at an unbelievable rate, Dubai is soon making its way to every tourist’s wish-list. Skyscrapers have begun to flood this Middle Eastern paradise making for an inconceivable view. Climb to the top of the 161-floored piece of marvel Burj Khalifa to catch the Emirati skyline.

Doha, Qatar

The Qatari capital is preparing itself for the world's largest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup (to be held in 2022), as it builds new stadiums all across adding to its already mind-blowing skyline. With numerous structures touching the stars, Doha's night sky is something you can't miss out on. Drive up to The Corniche, a waterfront promenade running along the Doha Bay, to enjoy the view.
