Deepak Kamath, the first Indian to have ridden in six continents and the first Asian to do so in Antarctica, is a legit legend of the international motorcycling fraternity. On his Instagram handle, @theadventuresofarmstrong, Kamath often shares envy-inducing visuals from his motorcycling trips all over the world, in addition to snippets and anecdotes from his life—his travels as a newbie, learnings from his early motorcycling (his exploits include the Trans-Siberian Odyssey and the Polar Odyssey) and what have you. In 2020, we caught up with the serial overlander for a special first-timer's guide to those looking to travel solo on bikes. Read it here.

Well, Ms Pryce is a sort of a personal hero for us. The British journalist and adventurer has motorcycled from Alaska to Argentina, through the Sahara and Congo and Angola in Africa, and journeyed from Britain to Iran twice. You won't find flashy pictures and videos of her on her Instagram—it is through her breakthrough book Revolutionary Ride, that one can truly comprehend the scale of her journey from Britain to the heart of Iran. Her earlier book Lois on the Loose charts her motorcycle journey from the northern tip of Alaska to the southernmost point of South America.
Catch Lois talk about the significance of vulnerable travel in this TEDx Talk from six years ago. For a more recent chat with her that we did last year, click here.

But last year, when Candida put out a YouTube video covering her epic ride from Bangalore to Australia, riding from the Karnataka capital to India's scenic northeast and through the heart of southeast Asia, we fell in love. Candida undertook this cross-continental ride as part of a special project honouring Australian biker Alistair Farland, who suffered a fatal injury on a tour in North America. Candida has led tours in several countries and ridden in over 25 nations. Follow her adventures on her YouTube channel, Candida Louis.
