The idea of a free luxury-vacation for the first post-pandemic getaway sounds just perfect. How about repeating the same for the next two decades?
While ordering an Italian dish is the farthest some of us have been to explore in the past few months, resort destinations in Mexico have something up their sleeves. Tourism accounts for 8.5% of Mexico's GDP and the competition is directly aimed at promoting the industry that is struggling due to the pandemic. Despite reopening its borders to tourists in July, as the rate of COVID-19 spread begin to slow down, hotels and hospitality businesses are finding it tough to bounce back from the losses incurred from months of shutdown. The organisers firmly believe that a widespread social media campaign will put these coasts back on the traveller’s minds. About 24 million foreign tourists had visited Mexico last year.
Currently, the residents of the US, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina, can take part in the competition. It runs until November 9 and winners will be declared towards the month’s end. Check out their website to know more.
