Many mainstream culture cons have been deferred or dropped due to COVID-19, leaving comic fans with little to anticipate for the next couple of months. Fans may not be able to flock to the grand events this year, but here's a piece of great news for all comics enthusiasts out there—associations around the world are filling the void by hosting virtual comic cons.
The idea is to convey the best of the comic experience and a feeling of the locale to anybody with a web connection and an enthusiasm for all things pop culture, comics, sci-fi, and more. Events will include panels and presentations on comics, gaming, TV, film, and gaming competitions. It is an effort to bring the excitement of the fests to the comfort and safety of your home.
The best part about comic con is dressing up as your favourite comic character. You won't be missing out on that as activities will include masquerades.

CCI Pop Culture Forum
Comic Con India’s leading Industry Award, Pop-Culture Forum (PCF) has been the iconic and long-revered conclave for the best talents and minds in the pop culture industry. The event brings together engaging panels that take on topics like comics, entrepreneurship and consumer trends. This year, PCF is going virtual. The two-day digital event is open to everyone. They have lined up live interactions with award winners, and panels such as The Journey of Cosplayer with Sameer Bundela; Bringing Comics to Life with Asvin Srivatsangam of Yali Dream Works (an offshoot of Indian comics publisher, Yali Dream Creations); 40 Years of Tinkle Magazine, and The Business of Pop Culture in times of COVID.
All this and an hour of packaged programming each day. The Pop Culture Forum 2020 will be streamed exclusively on Comic-Con India Social Channels.

San Diego Comic Con 2020
This year will be the first time that the iconic SDCC has run an event exclusively online. And while con-goers won't be shuffling shoulder-to-shoulder on the San Diego Convention Center floor, they can enjoy the show from the comfiest couch in their pajamas. In order to check out Comic-Con@Home, you don't need a badge or a special code. You just need access to YouTube. All you have to do is go to Comic-Con's YouTube page, subscribe and tap the notification bell.

WorldCon New Zealand 2020
Worldcon — the sci-fi (and fantasy) convention that happens in an alternate area every year — was set to occur this August in New Zealand. This year, the coordinators of the 78th World Science Fiction Convention 2020 have chosen to make it a virtual occasion because of concerns about the pandemic. Warner Bros will be hosting ‘DC Fandome’, a 24-hour virtual fan experience. Accessible for 24 hours at DCFanDome.com, the free global event will immerse fans in the DC Multiverse, with new announcements from WB Games, film and TV, and comics. You will also get an unprecedented opportunity to hear from the cast and creators behind your favourite feature films and TV series, including Aquaman, Batman, Batwoman, Black Adam, Black Lightning, DC Super Hero Girls, the folks from DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and DC’s Stargirl. All of it is available in several languages including Brazilian, Portuguese, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.

The organisers behind the #SaveDaredevil movement will be hosting #SaveDaredevilCon to coincide with the San Diego Comic Con. The virtual event will feature content focused on The Man Without Fear, the character's Netflix show, and associated properties. Both cast and crew from the acclaimed Netflix series will be taking part in pre-recorded panels in addition to live roundtable discussions. #SaveDaredevilCon will debut an energising calendar of pre-recorded meetings and roundtable boards, highlighting cast individuals and other people who made the hit show special.
