The pandemic has gotten us all stuck at home, wandering aimlessly from one room to the next and taking multiple trips to the balcony or terrace just for a breath of fresh air. It can become quite frustrating after a point of time, to have to remain within the four walls of our home for days on end. While we are all at different stages of the quarantine, those who tend to travel frequently find themselves particularly sore from all the sitting around they have been doing. However, even if you cannot hail a cab to the nearest airport and board a flight right away, there are multiple other ways for you to travel from within your home!
Sort Through Old Pictures
That sounds deceptively simple, doesn’t it? Mark my words though, it is the most effective way of wandering under lockdown. We do not end up sorting out pictures after returning from a vacation most of the time, because we have other things that demand our immediate attention. We think we’ll do it in a couple of days but those days turn into weeks, into months and into years. Well, this is the perfect time to set that straight! Bring out the box of unsorted photographs and go for a trip down the memory lane as you arrange them in any way you like. Perhaps get creative, and make a few interesting scrapbooks out of them.

Create A Travel Blog
Always felt like documenting your travels but never quite managed to do it? Well, now you have all the time in the world. So go right ahead and get that travel blog started. It may include favourite moments from a trip, photographs, itineraries or anything that you would like to share with the world. If you don’t want to open your own blog, send in your travel stories to different websites on the internet. You may find one who may publish them.
Go on Virtual Tours
With major tourist spots taking a blow to the head, a lot of them have opened up virtual tours for their customers. What’s even better is that a lot of these tours are completely free. You can head to their website and check out your virtual tour options. This has been particularly popular with museums around the world as they have created virtual tours of specific sections so you can visit them anywhere and anytime. To top it off, if you have a VR headset then that is the icing on this cake!
Sort Out Those Souvenirs
While most of us are very particular about bringing back souvenirs from our trips, very few of us actually put careful thought into arranging or displaying them. If your souvenirs also lie scattered just about anywhere at home, then it's time to give them a proper place. Look up ways in which you want to arrange souvenirs and make a gallery of sorts. You can get the whole family involved in this as well and trade stories and memories while you build your very own souvenir display.
Finally, if all else fails, you can always plan your next trip. We know it seems like this lockdown will never end but with travel restrictions being relaxed all around the world, we will soon be able to travel again. In fact, a lot of countries will be putting in special effort towards boosting this industry. So this is the perfect time to plan that next trip. Simply look up all the measures you need to keep in mind while travelling and chart out a plan for the traveller in you!
