Luxurious chocolate experience at ITC Maurya in Delhi

A few months ago, ITC quietly launched Fabelle, its range of luxury chocolates at an eponymous boutique at the ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru. So it was only when the boutique opened at the ITC Maurya in Delhi that we were able to sink into its plush sofas and surrender to the food of the gods. We certainly felt god-like, customising our own chocolate cup creations on a spiffy looking iPad menu. ITC’s Fabelle chocolates have been in the making for nearly a decade, so a lot of thought and, quite probably, a lot of tastings have gone into their making. And we’re happy to report that the results are right up there, and can rival the best in the world. There’s the Fabelle Ganache, velvety soft cubes of exotic cocoas delicately churned with butter and fresh cream. There’s Fabelle Elements, intricately crafted hard pralines inspired by, well, the elements (which they imitate in their textures). And then there is Fabelle As You Like It, personalised chocolate cup creations offering a myriad options in fillings. ITC is sourcing impeccable single origin cocoas from Africa and South America and pairing them with exotic ingredients like acacia nectar, French sea salt and ancho chilli. We heard that single-origin chocolate bars will be gracing the shelves soon too. There are cocoa beverages, both hot and cold. In addition, the Fabelle chocolate boutiques offer a range of exquisitely crafted desserts. You can’t carry these temperature-sensitive creations out though. Possibly a good thing—you get to spend a little more time in this little slice of paradise.
