As you probably know, Phuket has no shortage of ‘nice resorts’ (some would say it could do with less). But most tend to be luxurious and pricey–and you want to travel in the priciest time of the year. I struggled to find some that were quiet, attractive and affordable. Cloud 19 seems promising–a boutique resort facing a quiet beach in Ao Yon. Rooms here start from THB 3,800 (approx. ₹7,300); see cloud19phuket.com. The Thavorn Beach Village Resort is situated on the very quiet Nakala Bay (from THB 4,200; thavornbeachvillage.com). Serenity Resort and Residences is set in another tranquil part of Phuket. Rooms here cost from THB 3,000 but THB 4,950 will get you a suite (serenityphuket.com). If you want to get further away from the peak-season noise of Phuket, try Santhiya Koh Yao Yai, a speedboat ride away–remote and dreamy. Rooms start from THB 4,700 (santhiya.com).
