Claims will now be settled in three days upon the reception of simple claim documents
The pandemic has claimed countless lives, and most of these demises have been heartbreakingly unexpected and untimely. Dependents of deceased citizens with bank accounts have been facing quite a few difficulties in claiming their rightful amounts, primarily due to lockdowns implemented in several states, and various other similar mobility restrictions. The Central Bank has, therefore, introduced a new, hassle-free scheme that will make it easier for legal heirs/claimants to settle their claims. Requests may now be put in on the bank’s toll-free number 1800221911 or placed on its website www.centralbankofindia.co.in under the category labelled “what's new and other services”.
Depending upon which is lower, claims up to Rs 1,00,000 or 50 per cent of the claim amount will be settled in three days upon the reception of simple claim documents, the Bank said.
