Indy Car Race 2023

107th Running! Here’s options for listening or watching Indy 500 live streaming for free on Reddit, Crackstreams, including where to watch the Indy 500 race online. The highly-awaited race in a years-long rivalry is happening In central Indiana. The Indy 500 is going to be one of the biggest events of 2023, but as a PPV, it’s airing on NBC, so now’s the time to sign up. Also you can watch the Indy 500 with Peacock.

The IndyCar Series brings together top drivers from around the world — some with history in Formula 1, Formula 2, sports cars, supercars and more.

Its 17-race schedule of races around the US and Canada challenges competitors across a variety of circuits. And its showpiece event, the annual Indianapolis 500, is billed as one of the largest single-day sporting events in the world.

Over the Memorial Day holiday weekend (the late May Bank Holiday weekend in the UK), a trackside audience of up to 300,000 watch cars and drivers battle around Indianapolis Motor Speedway's huge oval circuit in a true test of skill, focus and strategy lasting 200 laps.

There are also a host of curious traditions linked with the race — the most famous being that the winner is presented with a congratulatory pint of milk.

If you're looking for another motor racing series to complement your Formula 1, Formula E, IMSA or WEC/Le Mans viewing schedule, then IndyCar might be one to try. The good news is that in some countries, you can watch practice and qualifying sessions for free to see if you might be interested in the main event.

IndyCar now also has its own fly-on-the-wall series called 100 Days to Indy, following the sport's personalities in a Drive to Survive-esque way. It launched in the US last month and is expected to air internationally in due course.

Watch the Indy 500 and IndyCar live in the US

Coverage of the IndyCar Series sits with NBC, the USA Network (for selected races) and Peacock, which is the streaming service of choice for IndyCar practice and qualifying sessions in the US.

If you're wondering where each IndyCar Series race will air during the season, there's a full list here. Note that the Indy 500 is subject to TV blackout rules on both NBC and Peacock in the central Indiana area, and this will only be lifted if the race sells out. If it doesn't, you'll have to listen live on the radio, or wait for it on tape delay or on demand after the event has finished.

Commentary comes from Leigh Diffey, who's joined in the booth by former IndyCar racers Townsend Bell and James Hinchcliffe. Here's Hinch interviewing reigning series champion Will Power as they sit in tiny branded cars, holding tiny microphones, as you do.

Peacock has three different subscription tiers. The entry-level tier is free and grants access to "thousands of hours of movies and TV shows".

The paid Peacock Premium tier opens up access to live sports, including the Indy 500 and IndyCar season, plus Peacock exclusive original series like Bel-Air and The Traitors US, next-day access to NBC shows and more. It's priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year.

There's also a more expensive tier, Peacock Premium Plus, with fewer ads. A small amount of programming still contains ads, as Peacock's website notes.) It costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year.

Watch IndyCar and the Indy 500 live in the UK

IndyCar race day coverage, including the Indy 500, airs in the UK on Sky Sports F1 or NOW. Remember that you'll also get coverage of Formula 1, Formula 2, and Formula 3 on Sky Sports F1 as well.

Where there are broadcast clashes with Formula 1 racing, you may find IndyCar coverage on another channel (usually Sky Sports Action) or on tape delay. Sky usually takes NBC's coverage of IndyCar, with insight provided through the US commercial breaks from Tom Gaymor.

Existing Sky Q and Sky+ customers can add Sky Sports to their plan from £24/month, with pricing depending on their Sky VIP tier. For new customers, pricing starts at £46/month for 18 months with Sky TV+Netflix (setup fees may apply). NOW pricing is £11.99 for day membership or £34.99 for a month's membership.

At the time of writing, IndyCar's own streaming service, IndyCar Live, will let you stream selected test, practice and qualifying sessions legally in the UK, as well as all sessions for support series Indy NXT (featuring triple W Series champion Jamie Chadwick).

In some countries where there's no other legal way to watch the race, you can pay to stream the 500 or other IndyCar Series races. To find out if you can take advantage of this, head this way for further details.

To reiterate, you won't be able to watch races on IndyCar Live in the UK. It's only on Sky.
