SASS launches chain hunger strike over Amarnath issue in Jammu

Jammu, Jul 20 (PTI) Demanding removal of Jammu and Kashmir Governor, N N Vohra and return of land to SASB, Shri Amarnath Sangrash Samiti today launched a chain hunger strike across the Jammu region.

"We have launched chain hunger strike across the Jammu region demanding removal of Vohra and restoration of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board," Leela Karan Sharma, chairman of SASS told reporters here.

The strike will conclude on July 27, he said.

"We may call more bandhs, road shows, snap highways for a longer period than the previous one, to take the agitation to its logical conclusion," he said.

Elsewhere in Jammu region, torch light protests, burning of effigies and black-flagged rallies were witnessed over the yatra issue.

SASS, a conglomeration of 35 outfits, is the nodal agency for Amarnath agitation in Jammu region.
