Dera Sachcha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, whose film MSG: Messenger of God's clearance has snowballed into a major controversy, today rejected charges that he used political pressure to get the green signal from Film Certification Appellate Tribunal.

"I did not exert any pressure. I only pray that I have made a film for the benefit of the people and it should be released," he told reporters here.

The FCAT had revoked the decision of Central Board of Film Certification to withhold clearance, paving the way for its release, expected between January 28 and 30, following which CBFC chief Leela Samson and seven other members resigned.

Asked whether he had anything to say to Samson, who resigned alleging government interference, Singh said, "For the district court's order (in case of discrepancy), we go to the High Court and for the High Court's order, we go to Supreme Court and respect the decision of the apex court. Likewise, if the Tribunal changes the decision of the censor board, it must be welcomed and one should not raise a finger against it."

Singh, here to promote the film, claimed his movie was against drugs and drug mafia's control over the youth.

"It is about drugs and how youngsters can get rid of the habit. It also talks about drug mafia network. It is about the youth and empowering them."

Asked why a godman like him chose cinema as a medium to reach out to the youth, he said, "It is the best way of reaching out to the youth."

MSG would be followed by a sequel, he said, "The sequel is about the tribal people of Rajasthan and Gujarat."

Asked whether he was confident about getting his sequel cleared, since the censor board has got new members, he said, "I left everything to God for my first film. For the sequel too, I will leave it to him."
