This was the first attempt for Mishra. Among the first twenty in the merit for 2003 batch, seven are women.
In all 316326 candidates had applied for the exams out of which 160788 actually appeared for the premiliminary test. 5973 qualified for the main exam and 1179 were called for interview for final selection.
Of the 413 candidates recommended for appointment to Government jobs, 184 belong to the general category, 129 to the Other Backward Classes, 67 to the Scheduled Castes and 33 to the Scheduled Tribes.
They would be drafted into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services Group 'A' and 'B'.
There are four candiates with physical disability selected this time.
The written exams were conducted by the Union Public Service Commission in May last year and interview and personality tests were held in April-May this year.
