New Delhi, March 2 (PTI) A discernibly warm and smiling US President George Bush today took pains to interact individually for a few seconds with over 70 dignitaries introduced to him at the Rashtrapati Bhavan before the banquet ceremony.

The US President greeted many of the dignitaries by names called out by the announcer while exchanging pleasantries with them.

"Hi Marshall" he called Arjan Singh while settling down for a brief chat along with his wife and President A P J Abdul Kalam.

Besides Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife, the Cabinet Ministers, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and BJP leader L K Advani, Bush was also introduced to the main staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan Bush, attired in the black suit and bow tie, and Laura Bush in a glittering light violet gown, took time to find out from the waiter what drinks were available before proceeding to the banquet ceremony.

Bush and his wife were seen sipping the drink before ambling to the Banquet ceremony.

Bush was often heard having a hearty laugh while talking to the dignitaries.
