Punjab government today nominated nine personalities, including cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu and legendary athlete Milkha Singh, as state ambassadors for the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Punjab's Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi said the names of Milkha Singh, Navjot Singh Sidhu, cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh, environmentalist Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal, President of All India Pingalwara charitable society Inderjeet Kaur, Hockey Olympian Pargat Singh, renowned singer and actor Gurdas Mann and famous TV artist Kapil Sharma have been finalised.
Joshi said the Union government has sought names of prominent personalities of Punjab to be made as state ambassador for Swachh Bharat Mission.
He said the names have been forwarded to Ministry of Urban Development for further necessary action.
