A college professor, who had allegedly posted indecent remarks against B R Ambedkar on a social networking site, was arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody by a court in Chamoli district.
Assistant Professor Bhagwat Purohit was yesterday arrested from Nainital and produced before the court today which remanded him to 14-day judicial custody, police said.
An FIR was registered against him last week for posting indecent remarks against Ambedkar on his 125th birth anniversary yesterday on Facebook. He was booked under the IT Act and relevant sections of IPC.
