If there is political unrest in neighbouring Bangladesh it also influence the peace and stability of our country, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said.

"Bangladesh is our closest neighbour and if there any political turmoil or unrest it also influence our peace and stability in India. We as neighbours always want peace and tranquillity to continue in the neighbouring country," Sarkar said while addressing a function organised by Bangladesh Visa office here on the occasion of Bangladesh Independence Day last night.

He said, "Those, who were against the formation of Bangladesh as a sovereign country, had always hatched conspiracies against the democratic process in the country."

First Secretary of Bangladesh Visa office, Obaidur Rehaman in his speech said, there were conspiracies in different phases against the forces of Liberation War after the brutal assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rehaman in 1975, but Bangladesh could win those situation with the support of people.

Tripura has 856-km-long border with the neighbouring country and it accommodated 16 lakh people which were more than its own population at that time.
