The official has been identified as Shokeen Pal, who is deployed at a security unit in Supreme Court.

Pal received a bullet injury on his shoulder, said a police official.

According to the police, the incident was reported around 4 PM yesterday, when Pal was not on duty and had gone to a neighbour's office to settle a dispute with him and his son.

The neighbour, Vijender Kumar, is a property dealer in the area.

Neighbours called up the police and Pal was rushed to a hospital, where his situation is stated to be stable now.

Meanwhile, Kumar and Pal's son also had to be admitted in the hospital for their injuries.
