Lakme Fashion Week 2009 here today was witness to a mix of fashion and humanitarian cause, when English supermodel Naomi Campbell and hotelier Vikram Chatwal walked the ramp to raise funds for the victims of 26/11 terror attacks.

Campbell walked the Indian ramp for the first time in a show titled "Mai Mumbai" (I Am Mumbai), which had the creations of the creme de la creme of Indian and international fashion designers on auction.

The proceeds of this auction, for which one can bid on eBay.Com, would go towards improving the city's medical infrastructure.

New York-based Vikram Chatwal, who spearheaded this initiative, said a lot of lives were lost in the 26/11 terror attacks due to inadequate emergency medical transportation facility.

"The funds will mostly be deployed to provide more ambulances. If this happens ever again, we know what do we do and how to prevent it," Chatwal told media persons here.

"They (terror attacks) are not easily forgotten and we just want to tell the people who went through it that we are with you. We are in mourning and we send our biggest condolences," Campbell said.
