Congress leader Raj Babbar today claimed Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power showing dreams to people which have now turned to daydreams as they were far from reality.
"Narendra Modi attained power showing elegant dreams to the people. And after one year those dreams have turned into daydreams as his dialogues remain far from the ground reality," the Congress General Secretary told reporters here.
"Modi had showed the blueprint of economists and industrialists, but within a year it remains a mere print only," the cine star-turned-politician said on Modi's pre-poll addresses.
"It is a government of announcements only. The country does not need a government of announcements. It needs a government that works on the ground taking the country on the path of progress and welfare," he said.
Taking a dig at Modi's foreign tours, Babbar said the Prime Minister was " basking in the glory of other personalities by clicking photos with them."
Criticising the PM's announcement of aid to Mongolia, he said, " He is visiting foreign countries instead of wiping tears of the farmers."
Claiming that the NDA government was giving an account of the policies and programmes of the previous UPA government, he wondered about the promise to bring back black money.
"He (Modi) said Rs 15 lakh would be deposited in every account. So people opened accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana. But no money has been deposited so far," Babbar added.
