'ISI Promised Dawood Protection If He Funded Terror'

According to reports, recently arrested Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda revealed during his interrogation that Dawood Ibrahim is in Pakistan, said some sources on Tuesday.

According to sources, ISI also promised Dawood protection and sanctuary if he invested at least 30 per cent of his earnings to fund terror activities.

The revelations, which come from Tunda's sustained interrogation, contradict Pakistan government's repeated denials that Ibrahim has taken shelter there and ISI's direct involvement in terror activities in India.

According to sources, Tunda confirmed Dawood's three addresses in Pakistan, including two in Karachi and one in Islamabad.

The two addresses in Karachi include his "White House" -- a Clifton Road mansion -- as reported by Headlines Today last year. The other house of the D-Company boss was located in the highly secured Defence Housing Area at Khayaban Tanzeem.

Dawood has also been provided a shelter in the national capital's Margalla Road area. The Indian intelligence agencies have these three addresses of Ibrahim in Pakistan.

Tunda, who was arrested from the Indo-Nepal border on August 16, is a close aide of Ibrahim and happens to be one of the 20 terrorists India had asked Pakistan to hand over after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008. He is suspected to be involved in 40 bombings in the country and is the first in the list to be arrested.
