Phir Kabhi the Hindi film directed by noted film-maker V K Prakash has been chosen as the best film in the 'Narrative Feature' section of the 2009 Los Angeles Reel Film Festival (LARFF).

Prakash also won the best director award for the film at the festival. The film, produced by UTV, had a low-profile release on its channel last year, a press release here said.

The film "almost swept the honours" in the Narrative Feature section at the LARFF, winning awards for best writer (M Sindhuraj), orginal score (Rajat Dholakia/Shantanu Moitra), production design (Nitin Desai/Anjan Ghosh) and best costume design (Bhanu Athaiyya/Simple Kapadia), the release said.

The film, with Mithun Chakraborty and Dimple Kapadia in the lead, is a sensitive tale of two childhood sweethearts who rediscover each other in the twilight of their lives.

Prakash had directed Malayalam films like Punaradhivasam, Mullavalliyum Thenmavum and Gulumal. Sindhuraj has written scripts for several popular Malayalam films.
