HC turns down Pappu's bail for visiting Beur jail against rule
Patna, June 24 (PTI) The Patna High Court today rejected bail petition of RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav in connection with violation of jail rules by throwing a party inside the jail after being released from there.

Justice Mridula Mishra turned down the bail prayer of Yadav moved by his counsel Nutan Mishra.

Yadav is currently lodged in Tihar jail in New Delhi in connection with the murder of CPI-M MLA Ajit Sarkar in 1998.

The Beur Jail authorities had lodged a case against Yadav with Phulwarisharif police station here for unauthorised entry into the prison late at night and reportedly organising a party for the inmates after he was released from the jail on bail in September last year.

While rejecting the bail prayer, the judge, however, allowed Yadav, RJD MP from Madehpura, to move another bail petition in the matter after six months.

Yadav's action (unauthorised visit to the jail and reportedly throwing party) had drawn flak from the HC, which had sought report from the jail authorities in this regard.
