Former MP Ankushrao Tope died today at a hospital in Chennai after developing a cardiac problem, family sources said.
The educationist was ailing for long. He was 74.
Tope breathed his last this morning after his condition deteriorated suddenly. He was recuperating after a surgery, they said.
His mortal remains would be consigned to flames tomorrow morning at Samarth Sugar Co-operative factory in Ankushnagar.
He was a MLA from Ambad constituency between 1972 and 1978 and a Lok Sabha member from Jalna (1991-96). He was father of former Maharashtra Education Minister Rajesh Tope.
