Mumbai, Apr 13 (PTI) A special court today extended till April 20 the judicial custody of suspended police subinspector Daya Nayak in the disproportionate assets case.

The custody was extended by special judge S P Mahajan who is hearing cases filed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Nayak, who shot dead 83 gangsters in encounters during his stint as subinspector in the crime branch, has urged for bail in the Bombay High Court and his plea would be heard on April 19.

He was arrested in February on the charge of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Nayak's associate Rajendra Padte has already secured bail. He is charged with helping Nayak in laundering his ill-gotten wealth.
