Senior BJP leader Kashiram Rana, party sources said, reached out to the party's central leadership here a day after he attended a meeting in Ahmedabad of detractors of Modi.
Vallabh Kathiria, A K Patel, Suresh Mehta and Somabhai Patel, besides Rana, were among those who were present at the Ahmedabad meeting, attended also by the suspended MLAs, on Friday.
Rana, the sources said, met BJP leader Arun Jaitley, whom party chief Rajnath Singh has given the overall election charge of Gujarat, yesterday.
The BJP believes attempts should be made to reach out to all those leaders who can be useful to the party as it seeks to retain power in the state elections due this year.
Modi faces massive dissidence, especially from those loyal to former chief minister Keshubhai Patel.
The saffron party, which may take action against three or four of its MLAs more for indiscipline, also plans to reach out to other leaders of dissident groups in order to ease strains within the organisation.
Many of its legislators in Gujarat voted for UPA-Left Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil as a mark of their opposition to the chief minister.
