An Air India flight flying in with 128 passengers from Ahmedabad suffered a tyre burst just after touchdown at the Mumbai airport today morning.
All passengers are safe and another aircraft will replace the Airbus A 320 to ferry passengers on their onward journey to Raipur.
"Air India flight AI 614 from Ahmedabad for Mumbai with 128 passengers and crew members suffered a tyre bust at 0904 hours during landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport today," the spokesperson said.
The main airstrip of the airport shuts down for repair works from noon and the aircraft snag could have hamstrung the airport operations. The main maintenance job of the airstrip will begin from October 30.
