Sahitya Akademi award-winning Bengali writer Nabarun Bhattacharya died today, his family sources said.
Son of famous litterateur Mahashweta Devi, the 66-year-old author was suffering from cancer and had been admitted to Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital a few days back.
His first novel novel Herbert in 1993 earned the Sahitya Akademi award and was also adapted into a Bengali film of the same name in 2005, by Suman Mukhopadhyay.
