Special teams formed to trace Dileepan Raj
Tiruchirapalli, Jun 26 (PTI) Special teams have been formed to trace 15-year-old Dhileepan Raj, who reportedly performed a surgery at a hospital near here in the presence of his doctor parents, a top police official said today.

Inspector General of Police (Central Range) T Raja told reporters here that police were "taking follow-up action" in their probe into the surgery allegedly performed by the boy, whose parents Murugesan and Gandhimathi were arrested yesterday.

Asked whether the hospital where the operation was performed would be closed on the basis on evidence gathered by the investigation team headed by a revenue divisional officer, Raja said police would take whatever action was required under the law.

He said a "deeper medical probe" was needed to ascertain the actual identity of the woman on whom the surgery was performed. The video clipping reportedly screened for IMA members by the boy's father featured a surgery that was performed on March 25.

"Three months have elapsed since then and hence a deeper probe is needed," he said.

Police sources said the doctor couple has been charged under eight sections of the IPC, including 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 336 (endangering life or personal safety), 338 (causing grevious hurt/endangering life or personal safety of others), 417 and 419 (cheating and duping) 465 (forgery), 201 (abetment to commit crime) and 114 (abetment to commit crime).
