The girl in her statement recorded in the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court here today alleged that on Monday evening she was asked to accompany a neighbour Kache Rongpipi at Taralangso near here to go for shopping with her.
After the shopping, another woman Sushila Rongpi who met them asked her to return home with the Assam Rifles constable identified as Gautam Tamang who was waiting on a two-wheeler.
As she was being taken in a different direction, the girl said, she "shouted for help". The police tracked her out yesterday based on his scooter number which someone noted as she was being taken away.
The girl stated that she was beaten up, scratched and then made unconscious with sleeping tablets.
Upon her medical examination, the girl was found to have been repeatedly raped the night-long, police sources said.
District Deputy Commissioner Anurag Goyal told PTI that a requisition from the judicial court had been obtained for seeking the custody of Tamang from the Assam Rifles, which he said was cooperating with the district administration.
The two women were also produced before the CJM and women organisations, including the firebrand Karbi Nimso Chingthor Asong (KANNCH), demonstrated against the rape and demanded immediate arrest and punishment of the guilty.
The rape and killing of one Thangiam Manorama allegedly by Assam Rifles personnel in Manipur in July last year had sparked widespread protests and violence in the state demanding scrapping of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act.
