Pune, Jun 15 (PTI) Two workers were killed in an explosion at the Ammunition Factory Kirkee (AFK) here this morning, said police.

The explosion occurred at F2 section of the ammunition factory around 9.20 AM when the employees were working in the section, an official from Khadki police station said.

The deceased were identified as Ashok Dubal (51) and S Maria Rock (47), he said.

Defence sources said the incident occurred at the time of shifting the explosives.

"It was regular work which was being carried out. Two workers got burn injuries and died. Military explosive experts are at the site and investigations are on," they said.

There was no damage to the buildings, they added.
