Mumbai, Jun 27 Pharma firm Sanofi and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals today said the European Commission has granted marketing authorisation for Kevzara (sarilumab) in combination with methotrexate (MTX) for the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in adult patients.
Kevzara may be used as monotherapy in case of intolerance to MTX or when treatment with methotrexate is inappropriate, the drugmaker said.
Kevzara is a human monoclonal antibody that binds to the interleukin-6 receptor (IL-6R) and blocks pro-inflammatory IL-6 mediated signalling. Elevated levels of IL-6 are found in the synovial fluid of patients with RA and play an important role in both the pathologic inflammation and joint destruction which are hallmarks of RA, it said in a statement here.

Apollo Hospitals launches air ambulance services network
Apollo Hospitals, Asia's largest multi-specialty chain of hospitals, today announced the extension of its air ambulance services network to several smaller cities and towns like madurai, Mysore, kakinada, karaikudi, Karur, Trichy and VIZAG through its current hubs in Chennai, hyderabad and bengaluru.

Royal Orchid Hotels today said it has opened a hotel under its brand 'Regenta' in Deharadun in Uttarakhand.
"Uttarakhand has always been an important market for hoteliers in terms of both business and leisure segments," Royal Orchid Hotels managing director Chander K Baljee said in a statement.
With this, Royal Orchid now has a total of 44 hotels.
Regenta LP Vilas in Dehradun is spread over a lakh square feet area and has a capacity to cater to 4,000 people, the statement added.

Vodafone ties up with Netflix
Second largest telco Vodafone India today partnered with Netflix to offer its premium Red customers the digital streaming player's subscription of up to one year on select plans.
"The partnership will offer Vodafone Red customers a gift of Netflix for up to one year on select tariff plans. New postpaid customers opting for Vodafone Red plans as well as existing Red customers will get Netflix subscription benefits worth Rs 1,000-6,000 based on their plans," it said in a statement.
In addition, Vodafone has entered into a carrier billing partnership with Netflix, which will allow its customers to enjoy the benefit of carrier billing and seamless month-to-month payments within the same bill, Vodafone India commercial director Sandeep Kataria said.

*New Delhi, Jun 27 Online retailer Myntra today said 1.3 million customers placed orders for 4.2 million products during its three-day End of Reason (EOR) sale, helping sales register 56 per cent growth over last year's edition.
The sale number includes those of Jabong, which was acquired by Myntra in July last year for USD 70 million.
"The sixth edition of EOR sale has by far been the biggest along with Jabong's participation. EOR sale has enabled us to expand our base," Ananth Narayanan, CEO of Myntra and Jabong, said in a statement.
During the sale (held between June 24-26), the company registered 183 per cent rise in traffic over base line and 1.3 million customers participating, he added.
Last year, the July sale saw participation from nine lakh customers.
Also, 3.5 lakh customers shopped on Myntra for the first time during the sale, and 4.2 million products were sold by the end of EOR sale, Narayanan said.
