Internshala has been working towards building a culture of meaningful internships in India since 2010. In the 10 years of Internshala’s journey, it has turned into the most trusted platform for internship seekers and recruiters looking to hire interns. The year 2020 despite COVID-19 saw a rise of 31% in internships as compared to 2019. The online platform is free for internship seekers and intern recruiters. It also provides an ad-free website experience with easy to use features for both employers as well as students. The students are provided with a smooth experience while building their resume, searching for an internship using multiple filters, and applying to the internships through the website itself. Similarly, the employers once authenticated are able to post multiple internships, provide assignments to the candidates, use a chat module to connect with the candidates, and screen the applications at a single platform.
“Over the years, all the stakeholders involved including college faculty, companies, students, and their parents have understood the importance of an internship in a student’s career and have made their contribution to building this culture in India. Even the government has recognised the significance so much so that we have seen new policies being implemented by MHRD and AICTE regarding internships. In fact, a lot of government institutions like DRDO, SBI, Niti Aayog, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), and many other ministries have their own internship programmes for the Indian students” said Sarvesh Agrawal, the founder and CEO of Internshala.
He added, “Internshala is committed to advancing this culture of internships and wishes to make internships available to all the 3.74 Cr (source: AISHE final report 2018-19) college going students of India in the upcoming years.
