Mumbai, May 11 Private life insurance company HDFC Life today announced its partnership with Rubique, to offer its life insurance products and services on the latter's online marketplace.

Rubique is a one-stop online marketplace providing technology enabled solutions to the financing needs of individuals and SMEs, HDFC Life said in a release.

This partnership will enable the private insurer to reach out to a sizeable online customer base.

Apart from life insurance, Rubique will also host home insurance, health insurance and automobile insurance in its marketplace.

Mumbai, May 11 Bath fittings and sanitary ware major Jaquar Group today said it has roped in Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone as the brand ambassador for its lighting vertical.

Jaquar Lighting aims to grow by over three times by the next financial quarter, taking its current turnover of Rs 100 crore to Rs 350 crore, it said in a statement.

The Lighting vertical will have a 360-degree marketing campaign and Jaquar Lighting Director Ranbir Mehra said, "the aggressive marketing campaign will help us grow from 1,000 retail stores to 3,000 by the first quarter of 2017."

BSE-SME listed Majestic Research Services and Solutions Ltd has reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 4.63 crore for the year ended March 31, 2017 up 146 per cent over last year.

Consolidated income from operations for the year under review grew by 105% to Rs 22.93 crore last year, a company statement said.

"Despite a relatively uncertain global macroeconomic environment, our growth was driven by our customers reposing their trust in MRSS. Going forward we are looking at consolidation, inculcating more fiduciary discipline, and stringent processes leading to operational excellence," MRSS India chairman Raj Sharma said.

Earnings before interest, tax and other income margin grew to 32.5 per cent for the year under review compared to 26.66 per cent in the preceding year.

New Delhi, May 11 ICICI Bank chief Chanda Kochhar becomes the first Indian woman to be conferred with the prestigious Woodrow Wilson Award for Global Corporate Citizenship.

She has joined the league of former Indian recipients-- former President and space scientist APJ Abdul Kalam and IT honcho Narayana Murthy.

The award was conferred by the Woodrow Wilson Centre in Washington DC yesterday.

The award was conferred on Kochhar for demonstrating a commitment to the common good - beyond the bottom line, ICICI Bank said in a statement.

Kochhar said: "As I see the list of past recipients of this honour, I feel inspired to be counted as one among them."

TII asks govt to curb growing smuggling of cigarette in India *Tobacco Institute of India (TII), a body which represents the cigarette manufacturers, has asked the government to take measures against the growing illegal cigarette trade in the country.

Citing sharp spurt in the incidence of reported seizures of smuggled cigarettes by the enforcement agencies in the country in the past few months, TII said that shares of legal cigarettes is shrinking.

"While the illegal cigarette trade in India is growing rapidly, the Legal Cigarette Industry continues to decline as a consequence of successive years of high excise duty rate increases, cumulatively going up by 125 per cent since 2012/13," said TII Director Syed Mahmood Ahmad.
