Infosys partners Siemens to develop advanced IoT engineering solutions
* New Delhi, Jul 5 (PTI) India's second largest IT services firm Infosys today said it has partnered with Siemens PLM Software to develop applications and services for MindSphere, the latter's open cloud-based IoT operating system.
MindSphere connects objects like industrial machinery and equipment to the digital world and provides industry applications and digital services to help drive business success, Infosys said in a statement.
It added that the partnership will enable customers to improve competitiveness by leveraging the power of data generated by their devices.
The initial focus will be on customers in the manufacturing, energy, utilities, healthcare, pharmaceutical, transportation and logistics industries, the statement said.
Subex bags multi-million-dollar contract from Optus * Subex, a telecom analytics solution provider, today said it has bagged a multi-million-dollar contract with Optus, Australia to implement its ROC network asset management solution.
Optus is one of the largest telecom operators in Australia and a fully-owned subsidiary of Singtel.
"As part of the deal, Subex's ROC Network Asset Management will enable Optus to control all of its existing and new network investments through a well-defined network efficiency framework," Subex said in a statement.
This implementation will further help Optus to protect their network investments, improve utilisation visibility and provide better financial controls, it added.
Trend Micro offers security solutions to Lupin * Security solutions provider Trend Micro today said it has secured the IT infrastructure of Lupin covering the pharmaceutical company's data centres, endpoints, email and networks.
No financial details of the partnership were disclosed.
"Lupin was seeking a comprehensive security solution that would equip their servers, network, and email with advanced protection, and that could detect and block security exploits, while also being equipped with cloud capabilities," Trend Micro Vice President South East Asia and India Nilesh Jain said.
Trend Micro deployed its solution in two phases, while Cloud App Security was used to secure more than 20,000 mailboxes operating on Office 365, he added.
Saurabh Kaushik, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Lupin said, "Trend Micro's capabilities like virtual patching that shields from vulnerabilities without leading to do emergency patching, and employing cross-generational techniques like machine learning used to detect advanced malware are a big benefit to our organisation".
LoanTap raises USD 6.25 million in third round of funding * Fintech firm LoanTap that caters to funding needs of salaried class has raised USD 6.25 million in its third round of funding from multiple investors.
LoanTap has closed its third round of equity funding led by Shunwei Capital, the company said today.
The total round size was USD 6.25 million with Tuscan Ventures and Ashish Goenka (Suashish Diamonds) participating in the round as co-investors.
Existing investors, India Quotient and Kae Capital reiterated their confidence in LoanTap by investing pro-rata in this round as well.
After closing its latest round of funding, LoanTap has cumulatively raised over USD 20 million in debt and equity.
"It plans to leverage an additional USD 30 million in debt this year," it said.
