Swiggy appoints Vivek Sunder as COO

New Delhi, Jul 2 (PTI) Food delivery platform Swiggy today said it has appointed Vivek Sunder as its first chief operating officer (COO).

As COO of the company, Vivek will be responsible for its operating units. He will be in-charge of developing and executing company's strategic direction and priorities to drive organisational growth and operational excellence, Swiggy said in a statement.

"I am confident that his proven track record and extensive experience, coupled with a laser-focus on industry-leading operational practices will drive and extend Swiggy's upward trajectory," Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety said.

Sunder has over 20 years of experience in the FMCG industry and has been working at the intersection of business and technology across several leadership roles and geographies at Procter & Gamble (P&G). His most recent role was as the Managing Director, P&G, East Africa.

Biryani by Kilo raises $1 mn funding

*Premium biryani chain Biryani by Kilo today said it has raised USD 1 million in pre Series A round of funding from a group of investors led by CX Partners Founder Chairman Ajay Relan.

"We have been in the industry for the past three years and are operationally profitable," Biryani by Kilo Founder Vishal Jindal said.

The company currently has a total of 11 outlets in India with ten stores in Delhi/NCR and 1 outlet in Mumbai, Biryani by Kilo (BBK) said.

Onward Technologies to set up design centre in Pune * Onward Technologies today said it will set up an engineering design centre in Pune to meet engineering services requirements of a North American client.

The company did not disclose investment details.

"Significant investments in technology are done to make sure that the centre functions as an extended arm of the customer's facility with all security measures in place to ensure data confidentiality and protection, a top priority in offshoring setup," the company said in a BSE filing. While the company did not name the client, it said the deal was "a long-term, multi-year strategic contract".

Onward Technologies offers mechanical engineering design services and software and IT solution services to automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment and consumer goods sectors. With footprint in India, North America, Germany and UK, the company has over 2,500 employees.
