New Delhi, Jul 22 (PTI) Aluminium prices softened 0.31 per cent to Rs 142.55 per kg in futures trade Monday as speculators cut bets amid subdued demand at the domestic spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in July contracts eased by 40 paise, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 142.55 per kg in a business turnover of 1,719 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in August contracts was trading lower by 10 paise, or 0.07 per cent, at Rs 145.10 per kg in 817 lots.

Analysts said off-loading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market weighed on aluminium prices in futures trade. PTI ADI SHW SHW
