Union Budget To Benefit Jharkhand Tribals: Jitendra Singh

For the betterment of tribals, Finance Minister Nirmal Sitharaman, in her budget speech has announced Pradhan Mantri PVTG Development Mission to saturate the PVTG families and habitations with basic facilities such as safe housing, clean drinking water and sanitation, improved access to education health and nutrition, road and telecom connectivity and sustainable livelihood opportunities, according to a government statement.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Saturday said tribals in Jharkhand will benefit from the recently tabled Union Budget. The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences was in Ranchi to participate in a debate on budget at a school here. 

Later, speaking to media persons at the BJP party office, Singh said that more than 38,000 teachers will be recruited for Eklavya Schools for tribal students. "Jharkhand tribals will benefit from the recruitment," he said. 

Jharkhand tribals will also get benefit from a scheme for PVTG, he said. "An outlay of Rs 15,000 crore has been announced for the mission to develop basic amenities such as housing, clean drinking water and sanitation for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) families," he said.

It also stated that a total of 38,000 teachers and support staff will be recruited in the next few years for the Ekalavya Model Residential Schools which will benefit 3.5 lakh tribal students.
