Our personal, social and political lives are dictated by how we feel or unfeel. Memories are informed by feelings, actions are a result of sentiment-infused discourses and we have witnessed how feelings have become important in politics in the modern world.
The first issue of Outlook in 2023 looks at the “Politics of Feelings”.
The cover image is a photograph of a poem handwritten by Vikram Seth. Poet, writer, translator and thinker, Vikram Seth, wrote these lines from his brilliant collection of poems, ‘All You Who Sleep Tonight’ (1990), in his exquisite calligrapher's hand, capturing the sense of loneliness in a few masterly strokes.
