Maharashtra: District Marketing Officer Suspended Over Irregularities In Paddy Procurement

The Maharashtra State Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited has suspended a district marketing officer from Bhandara over alleged irregularities in paddy procurement, an official said on Wednesday. 

DMO Ganesh Kharche has been accused of favouring one Sant Ravidas Magasvargiya Sushikshit Berozgaar Sahkari Sanstha Maryadit (Tumsar) that allegedly released paddy to millers less than the quantity it procured at minimum support price (MSP).

Kharche also allegedly failed to respond when an explanation was sought, which led to his suspension and a departmental inquiry against him, said the official. In February, two district marketing officers were suspended for alleged irregularities in paddy procurement and custom milling, he said.
